Q&A with Angie, Chief People Officer at PatientPoint

Why did you choose to join Patient Point?

A: I chose to join Patient Point because of our transformational vision, both as a business and as an employer. We aim to improve patients' lives through our award-winning content, technology, and extensive network across healthcare providers. Additionally, the Patient Point Foundation's work in promoting health equity in underserved communities resonated with me deeply. Combining these factors with our amazing team made it an easy decision.

What do you love about being the Chief People Officer at Patient oint?

I love being the Chief People Officer because it allows me to bring my passion for strengthening companies through talent and vision. I enjoy creating a talent strategy that supports our growth and aligns with our core values, such as systems thinking, which encourages cross-functional collaboration. This approach helps us unlock opportunities for everyone and supports our collective success.

What is most important to you in building a great culture at PatientPoint?

A: Building a great culture is about creating an inclusive environment that inspires high performance and removes obstacles for our employees. This involves improving processes, systems, and rewards while equipping our leaders to support their teams effectively. When employees are free to contribute and thrive, it's a win-win for both the company and the individuals.

How does Patient Point support career development?

PatientPoint encourages dynamic careers by allowing employees to try different roles and lead various initiatives. We have an open-door policy for career growth, whether through official applications or simply raising a hand to take on new challenges. This openness helps employees grow and, in turn, supports the company's growth.

What does a great company culture mean to you?

A great company culture is what happens when no one is watching. It’s about the behaviors, norms, and systems that create an environment where people want to be, contribute, and stay. It's not just about perks like ping pong tables but about fostering genuine connections and respect among diverse individuals. A fun culture with shared interests, such as a love for pets, adds to the positive environment.

Can you list the core values of Patient Point?

We stay focused.

We stand for accountability.

We are customer-centric.

We lead with trust.

We value systems thinking.

What advice do you have for someone looking to land a career at PatientPoint?

My advice is to bring your best self to work every day. Be hardworking and curious. Curiosity aligns with our core value of systems thinking, encouraging you to ask questions and challenge the status quo. Additionally, focus on how you do your job, not just what you do. If you embody our core values and maintain an open mind, you'll fit right in at PatientPoint.
